At the end of 2013, Fio Dourado concluded an investment project, supported by the Proder program, to increase the installed capacity for olive oil production and expand the installations for storing and packaging olive oil. This project was part of a sector application, in which Fio Dourado was involved as a coordinating entity, bringing together a group of twenty-one olive growers who made investments in increasing the productive area, by installing new olive groves.

This project was selected by the Contact Point of the European Network for Rural Development in conjunction with the European Commission - DG AGRI as a success story at European level, subject to dissemination within the scope of the programming cycle (2014-2020) of the Rural Development Policy .
